This was not what I expected. Very seaweedy and it should be called green powder, not salt. Its not grainy at all. As a salt lover I was dissapointed. Not for me- I gave it away.
John C.
As 77 year old, I need to reduce damage caused by excessive sodium. This tastes right and a little suffices for my foods. I recommend it without fear.
Peter P.
You know me. I'm the biggest Greensalt fan in the world. It's changed my life for the better. I love salt. I consume far too much. However with Greensalt, I can indulge with less guilt. Not to mention, it's the flavor. Sure it's salty, but the umami oceanic essence is what keeps me coming back. I wish I could work with you guys, and possibly branch out to Greensalt popcorn, Greensalt margarita rims, Greensalt potato chips... Think about it.
I know bags 14 and 15 will be amazing. I'm looking forward.
-Peter
Holler at your boy. Let's do this.
Nancy G.
Good flavor. Even my picky husband likes it. We are using it mostly after cooking food for the health qualities and the taste.
Lynley
Tastes great and knowing it has 1/2 the effect in my body is rather fantastic. Thank you
Sharon C.
I especially like Green Salt on tomatoes, pasta, rice, eggs and salad. Love it
Kerry M.
The product pretty much delivers all it says. Nice flavor, enhances food taste and lower in sodium than table salt. A little pricey, but overall I would say it is worth it.
Banya M.
I've recently been diagnosed with heart disease and have to watch my salt intake. Green Salt has been a great addition to my new diet and I can say that it should've been used by me before because I love how it tastes!
Dave G.
It's remarkable how flavorful Green Salt is. I'm happy to say I now have a nice alternative to even Kosher Salt or Sea Salt. This is helpful for my blood pressure concerns, thank you for this product.
Best Regards,
Dave G.
JOANNE CLAIRE H.
Great flavor and aroma!! Will buy again~
Rita C.
Very nicely "salty" without any off flavors.
Elizabeth B.
Taste great. So happy for a lower sodium alternative.
Nelson G.
Although it doesn't taste exactly like regular salt we believe it's a great substitute with half the sodium. It's just a matter of time in getting used to it. Great product
Karen W.
WONDERFUL PRODUCT!!! AND, A HEALTHY PRODUCT!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!! ❤️
Besse
Quite tasty! I’ve known about Salcornia for years as a little pick-me-up at the edge of the salt marsh. Wonderful having it in such a useful form.
Grace W.
The taste is quite salty and savory. But I think it's over priced.
Timothy B.
I am still getting used to this salt. Its going to be a while before I can give a better review
Pat L.
My husband doesn't care for it, but I do, need it for congestive heart failure.
Diane W.
My husband is enjoying the green salt. The herb like texture was surprising to me.
Susan B.
I have replaced my use of table salt with this Green Salt. It is plenty salty, but nice to know it actually contains 50% less sodium. I tried putting it in a spice jar with largish holes in the lid in order to shake it on my food, but I find it difficult to get the right amount out of the shaker. Either it’s not coming out, or a lot more comes out than I want. I’ve started shaking it out into my hand, then rubbing two hands together to get a more even spread onto my food, which gets messy. The Green Salt is not crystals, it is more like a dried, powdered herb. Perhaps the sellers have a suggestion for how best to use it!
Anne A.
My husband is on a low sodium diet. Even though I’m a good cook, his food tasted bland. GreenSalt came to his rescue!! It’s amazing! Everybody’s happy!
Nunzio N.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the Green Salt tasted. I use it on salads, veggies, and quite a few other dishes I prepare. It adds just enough saltiness to embellish the food without the "salty" aftertaste of table or sea salt.
Lyn Z.
My grandson likes it and I agree on liking the taste it “is” pleasant ~ where it falls short in my experience is during cooking the saltiness fades and to date I haven’t found a working measurement to convert from amounts I’ve used with other salts. I will continue to have it for last minute table salting and use other salts for cooking with.
Roy Z.
I recently discovered Green Salt. It is a gift to those who must restrict sodium at the same time retain a great salty flavor with a unique umami for all kinds of foods.
I am a personal chef in Southeast Michigan and I heartily recommend Green Salt for all your favorite foods.
FYI, it's really good on popcorn!
Ken L.
Love the subtle umami flavor, pulls flavors out of vegetables especially.
Ken K.
Really enjoying the new taste.. it’s even better tasting than regular salt & I really was using way too much salt.. thx for a healthier choice..
Laura P.
It’s a unique taste. Very salty but nice “green” under taste. Use very carefully , a little goes a long way.
EDITH M.
I wanted to wait to see if I liked the green salt….. I love it and it does taste like salt and from what I’ve read is better for you.
I try not to use regular salt too much but this green salt is a game changer for me.
I will be recommending it.
Thanks
E. Mitchell
Rachel C.
while you use the term"umami" this is a deception. It clearly tastes like seaweed which while not unpleasant (unless it is in something sweet) is not exactly as described .
STACY G.
I am sad that it tastes and smells fishy to me. I have tried it on several things and do not care for it.
Eric
Excellent and safer choice of salt I ever made for my health and I really love it very much. Thank you, Green Salt cultivators
Aiyana A.
We’ve been using Green Salt for over a year now, and it’s great! Helps cut down on the sodium in our diet, and tastes good!
OWEN B.
Good Stuff! We love it! Give some a try!
Màrie G.
Taste just like salt and better for you. Amazing
Georgiana G.
It is very good. It adds a slightly tangy quality to vegetables. Like adding a tiny bit of lemon.
Patricia L.
I really wanted to like this. I didn't dislike but it did not seem to do anything.
Patricia G.
I’ve been disappointed. It is so fine that it pours out of a regular salt shaker and creates a cloud of dust. I don’t find a very strong salt or other taste. I feel as though I’m using so much it doesn’t really reduce sodium.
Robin L.
I’m one happy chef!! I haven’t had salt for so long and now this wonderful product has saved the day! Food tastes wonderful again!!
Thank you!
Belinda A.
I have Both heart disease and chronic kidney disease, and regular salt is not good for me, so I stopped using it all together and of course the flavors of my food changed. But with green salt I now have my flavor back.
Jo A.
Nice mild salty taste. Adds a woodsy flavor too. Very nice
Cashion C.
I love me my green salt and so happy y'all are doin' alla work because I've not enough time in the day to process pickleweed.
One of my favorite things to do with, besides putting it on everything, is to slice up all my going stale homemade bread into crostini size pieces line 'em up on half-hotel size sheet pans, sprinkle on the gralt and bake at ca 260 F for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Cool 'em, put 'em an airtight container, snack on em' throughout the day, with or without peanut butter or homemade ricotta chiz or any other kinda chiz. Float 'em on soup. And so on and so forth.
I treat my teaparty friends to this and send em home with a little bag o salt and y'all's address. 'S my story and I'm stickin' to it. xocc
David P.
Great product. Just the right level of salt, and I love the flavor derived from the plant.
Shari M.
I really like this product. As a person who tends to over salt her food, this is a perfect solution for me. Thank you.
Joanne F.
I don’t use salt to often, but when I do, this is great. I threw my old salt shaker away. Green salt is my go to.
David N.
A tasty and pleasant umami substitute for salt.
Warren P.
The green salt is quite tasty! It's different, but it really enhances food flavor. I am pleased with my purchase of green salt!
Jan C.
What a healthy alternative to salt! It is salty so it provides the flavor profile without all the sodium. I’ve been using it as a pretty finishing “salt”. It is definitely a little different - it does have a bit of a “sea” flavor but mild. So glad this company exists to provide mankind more interesting and varied flavor profiles.
Susan G.
It’s good. You only need a tiny bit.
Sharon O.
Loving Green Salt on popcorn!
Betty G.
The green salt has helped me used less salt. Let’s face it: nothing completely takes the place of salt, but if you’ve got to cut down, green salt is the way to go!
Carin C.
I was actually a good bit skeptical about ordering this because I am a salt lover. Once I got the order and open the bag, I was a little bit skeptical because of the slight smell of asparagus but you actually get over that pretty quickly you have to use more than what you would with normal salt but now it doesn’t bother me at all and I really enjoy the fact that I’m not using regular salt anymore and it was well worth the purchase, and I Will be buying it again.
Patricia D.
The taste is fine!
Esther C.
I'm frankly not liking the taste. I'll have to keep trying it I guess, but I cannot recommend it.
Donna T.
I love the green salt. It doesn't have that kind of metallic taste
The green salt doesn't have that.
Very mild.
Sally L.
The flavor is interesting and quite pleasant, but I really cannot taste saltiness. I have used it in several recipes now, and sprinkled it on the surface of items I am eating.. It’s weird because I do not taste salt but the flavor I is appealing and so far things have been good. I eat and do not seem to miss the salt. Strange. But I will keep working with it.
Normand S.
Unfortunately I did not like the taste or appearance. I cannot have salt on a regular basis and was hoping your product would fill my gap. It floats on my cooked food and does not look presentable . I should of ask for small sample before spending all my limited money.
Wish I could be more positive .
Sorry
Normand Simard
Jane C.
The taste is good. I am still experimenting.
Joseph G.
I like the flavor on different types of food. Love the sodium levels. It’s a little pricey though.
Peter P.
It continues to be my favorite seasoning. I haven't purchased regular salt in a year!!
Holly
Pricey but was hopeful that it would be pretty salty as a way for myself and friends and family to use less salt. It tastes pretty good but I don't find it that salty. My friend who has HBP have a bag back to me after trying it for a week or two as it didn't do it for her. Hubby didn't use it which I thought he would. Probably won't order again.
Marianne C.
Since I have high blood pressure I thought your salt would be a good alternative to regular salt. However it smells and tastes like hay and because of the shipping charges gets to be terribly expensive. I also bought the seasoning and found it very bland.
marian o.
It takes a little time to get used to from table salt but better for me health wise so I can get use to the taste. A good product over all
Robert S.
Everything has been fantastic. You all are batting a 1,000!!!!
Lillian D.
I am planning on cooking Thanksgiving this year and that's when I'm planning on using the Green salt so I will send the video to let you know how my family feels about the taste or if they can taste any difference.
Mary F.
I'm getting used to using more and it's going pretty good. I like using it because it is lower in sodium and you can get a salt flavor for not many grams of sodium. This time I bought TWO bags and the seasoning; which I do like a lot.
Melinda J.
I'm not sure yet. Need to try it on some other foods before I have an opinion. I can say it will turn a white sauce rather green but that's not truly an issue. Wish it said something about storage. I live in a humid environment. Salt shakers frequency contain rice so that the salt doesn't clump up
WILLIAM S.
Super fast shipping this green salt is healthy and has minimum sodium in it and it is all natural. Only salt anybody should ever use. Great product.
DeHaven C.
Nice to know it has 50% less sodium. Taste is good.
Rose G.
I’ve tried cooking with it a few times instead of sea salt and it bothered me that it didn’t dissolve and it sort of gets in the way of swallowing because I could feel granules of it especially in a soup. I don’t think I can recommend it especially with small children in my household. The same thing happened with the all purpose seasoning. The granules didn’t melt in the cut up roasted asparagus with drizzled olive oil so my grandchildren immediately noticed it and decided not to have any of the roasted asparagus! It’s sad because this veggie is one of their favorites. Hence, I want to return them with a full refund! Please advise on how to return this purchase.
Beatrice d.
Wonderful product! I don’t use table salt at all anymore-only Green Salt.
Kim D.
I was a little shocked of the texture when I opened the bag but was amazed by how good it tasted on different foods, I really like it, I just need to find a good shaker to put it in. Would definitely recommend Green Salt…
Sydney P.
from me! I like briny things like sushi and seaweed. Green salt has a mild briny taste along with the pleasant saltiness. I like the idea that I’m getting some nutritional benefits while reducing my sodium intake.
Normand S.
Did not like it at all.
Will discard the product.
Michael S.
LOVE THE TASTE AND IT HELPS A LOT KNOWING IM NOT TAKING IN AS MUCH SODIUM. REMINDS ME OF DULSE.. WILL BE A USER FROM HERE FORWARD.
Stacy M.
Great flavor guilt-free!
Mark J.
I like the lower sodium content and umami flavor. It's not going to be a total replacement for salt for us, but it has its place. My only real complaint is that I'd rather not have to buy 2 large bags of it just to try it. A smaller order would be preferable.
Mary C.
The green salt is tasty and helps me cut down on sodium.
Lillian
Had a hint of sage flavoring but does have that salty taste I like it will come in handy for Thanksgiving cooking.
Queenie C.
I wasn’t sure what to expect but I do enjoy the flavor of Green Salt. It’s a little more powdery than I expected but it works well in my cooking.
Lone B.
We like the taste and color. Makes my husband less anxious about his high blood pressure.
Lisa
A nice salt substitute but not for everything as it tastes of the sea!
Ari S.
The texture probably doesn't make for a universal salt substitute (not that it's bad either), but the flavor was far more widely useful than I expected. People talk about it being good on vegetables & even seafood, but I haven't found any food it doesn't work with: meats, dairy & grains are good, fruits & desserts in their limited amount too. The umami herbal flavor people mention I find to be very reminiscant of matcha powder, if that helps guide expectations for culinary applications, I feel dishes that could be good with both matcha & salt flavors are good baselines for gauging that.
William S.
Don't care for the taste
Janice C.
It is helping keep my husbands water retention under control. It is a great substitution for taste of salt.
Judy P.
I just ordered more the other day so that is my review! It is so very good!
Betty G.
I like it, helps me cut back on salt.
Tanya D.
Not as salty as I expected. You really have to be liberal with it, but I like it. It’s flavorful.
Monica C.
Perfect alternative to conventional salt, or as a salty-taste booster! I use it alone (on all of my meats, eggs, and vegetables) or to boost the flavor of just a pinch of conventional salt without adding more sodium and affecting blood pressure levels. I hope I can always buy this product.
Natalie P.
When I first tried the green salt by itself, I wasn’t impressed…. But I finally put it on two item: chicken thigh & garlic butter toast and HOLY MOLY. that stuff is sooooo good. Better than regular salt. Very umami. My mom bought some shortly after I told her about my experience
Arthur Z.
It doesn't taste like salt it tastes like vegetables powder it does not give enough salt sensation on the vegetables it gives a funny aftertaste I'm sorry but this is not the product for me no hard feelings I gave it a try it's not bad but I like a little bit more flavor even if it's going to kill me that's why I prefer to eat sea salt
Douglas E.
A great salty taste with a pleasant after taste. Works great as a rub too
Jean C.
This powdery substance is nothing like “salt.” I assumed it would be crystalline in form, but it is not. I assumed that the flavor would be salty, but it has its own distinctive (but not pleasant) flavor. It was an overall disappointing purchase, and a total waste of my money.
Meredith
Great tasting salt replacement
Luella E.
I was skeptical when ordering because I do not like fishy flavor and was concerned that was what the umami flavor was going to include….nope! I love it and the health benefits it contributes to.
